Hiring a plasterer to render the outside of your building costs depend on the size of the project and how many workers are required. Rendering is not a job you will want to do yourself. They might have skilled plasterers and labourers working in unison, one who does the rendering work and the other who mixes the plaster and clears up.
The average cost of hiring a plasterer in the UK £25 and there are regional variations with London and the surrounding area being more expensive. Rendering a house will take a week or even longer to finish and will require additional support including scaffolding. Expect to pay around £50 per square metre and maybe more.
Plastering the exterior of a home is known as rendering and is done by a qualified plasterer. This uses thicker plaster than interior work, and takes multiple coats to get it right. Rendering is often then painted over, this may or may not be included in the price. To render a small bungalow, expect to pay around £2000. For a 3-bedroom home with 2 storeys, this will increase to around £3500, and for very large homes could be as much as £5000+.
The cost of the scaffolding makes up a sizeable chunk of the price for 2 or more storey homes, so if you live in a large bungalow expect to pay a bit less than the prices we quoted above.
