Patchy lawn

Foxes have dug out holes in my lawn, also, there’s a bare patch in the corner (caused by tree shade) ; I want to re-seed the bare patches. I’ve seen boxes of lawn seed in supermarkets but I'm not sure if they are any good. Any recommendations?
