Hi Its simply a matter of asking the question up front, some will and some will not, particularly if the work involves using ladders where health and safety becomes an issue. Everything should be discussed and most cleaners prefer to get on with the work without supervision as they are professional people who know what they are doing and most prefer to from from a tic list, this way, they can keep track of what needs doing. Be realistic, if you want a bathroom properly deep cleaned, this can take up to 2 hours if not longer depending on what needs doing. Do it yourself first at a normal working pace and see how long it takes you to get to the standard you are looking for. The cleaner will in all probility do the job faster. Hi Zoe, to go to work while cleaners do their job - such practices are very common and most of the time client is for example shopping, going to work, gym, etc... but they can stay at home while we do cleaning, usually we get a key or alarm codes for access. Cleaners do extras as folding away washing or cleaning your fridge, windows inside, you can leave a list of tasks for your cleaner but please bear in mind some of them tasks can be more time consuming and for example after we do usual basic weekly clean ( 2-4hrs ?) and then we are asked to do some extra work this can become bigger job and more time consuming than clients' estimate. We send to our client a proposal - contract acceptance form with Terms and Conditions before we start. Thank you Regards Michael

Every cleaning company is different with different standards. Best to call a company and arrange a meet to so you can go through the basics of what you want doing and the extras. As well as discuss the timing of said jobs. The timings can change depending how much needs doing. I personally arrange a deep clean first to get everything to our standards. If they cant afford in one go we arrange to do a basic clean with one room being deep cleaned every visit till complete. Then look at how long will take to whole job.
