About Paul the Plumber

I've been self employed in the buiding/construction industry since 1980 and am able to turn my hand to numerous small, general internal and exterior home repairs and woodworking tasks.

During the past 20 or so years, I've concentrated soley on plumbing work and was for a number of years Gas Safe too (although I decided last yaer to let that lapse in favour of general plumbing).

I am a WRAS/WIAPS Watersafe Approved Plumber (membership number C1719)

I prefer to stick to quality Brands such as Bristan, Staurt Turner, Pegler, Crosswater, Grundfos, Adey, Franke, Grohe and Mira to name but a few.

I deal with all types of plumbing, including bathroom and kitchen refurbishments, although I am now tending to be more interested in leaks, repairs and replacement of any plumbing related items, due to my recent semi-retired stance.

As I am now effectively semi retired, I am very fexible in my approach and more than likely able to come out to you at very short notice. I feel my charging/pricing structure reflects my situation, as I'm not out to make big money, just to charge a fair rate for a good job done.

I mostly work with copper and soldered (end feed) fittings and happy to use a plastic pipe system, if the customer prefers. I don't do 'push fit' because I have serious reservations about its longevity but when it comes to plastic, I use Buteline pipe with mechanically crimped joints. Invented in New Zealand and has a track record of non-leak joints.

I don't do 'call out' charges, but prefer to discuss with the customer, a fair price for my time and any materials reqiuired in the event of an emergency, once I've arrived at the property.

I have my own VW Transporter van and all the tools of the trade.
