We make these kitchens to bring everyday joy to people with soul.Each kitchen is a collaboration between designer, client and maker, with the details obsessed over at every stage. Closer believe in the beauty of workmanship and how a human touch helps create a product with charm. The designs are inspired by those British styles from the past which have qualities applicable to modern use, specifically the refined simplicity of the Georgian period and the honesty of the Arts and Crafts movement. These are artfully blended with more recent Scandinavian and Italian influences, leaning more heavily one way or another depending on the client’s property and preferences. The projects are designed in London and manufactured in their Northern Ireland and London workshops.Closer launched in March 2022 and was born out of the desire to build kitchens using the best materials and functionality without a £100k+ price tag. It’s a no-compromise, high-end product, but because each kitchen is made for a specific setting it can adapted to suit a range of budgets. It is also economical by nature, as careful design and selection of materials mean a Closer Kitchen will last as long as you want it to, ageing beautifully – potentially for the life of the house.Closer works with clients through a four stage process of consultation, design, make and installation, to deliver a completed project and attentive aftercare. The relationship with their clients is seen as a partnership; together developing a kitchen that maximises the space and proportions of the property, while maintaining a strong visual identity.
