Converting a house into 2 small flats. It the sound will be annoying when tenants are sleeping below. So In the attic bedroom (5m x 5m) the floor is squeaking in the centre area. Can be heard and annoying. Under the floor is a stud wall which was done about 15 years ago. The noise is only from the centre 4 joists. Do I need to install more togs which I started doing but didn’t work? I can’t see if there’s a small gap below the joist as the stud was done under the ceiling with plasterboard. I think when walking the floor is grinding on the top of the studwall. Been told to try talc powder. Screwed in all the floorboard to the joists. Iv tried screwing from above plasterboard to the studwall. Any advice will be helpful.

My kitchen door opens itself without stopping until it hit a chair behind it. May need to replace the hinges. If you do, it needs fire rated one I believe as it is the kitchen door. As you could see in the picture existing hinges have pins on top and bottom. Also, the side attached to the frame has a radius corner and the other side is squared.

A house with carpets just removed, the floorboards look ok and wanting a rough quote on sanding then finishing to a acceptable level prior to selling house. Looking for budget job, not high spec. Trying to weigh up whether to recarpet or make best of the wood. 3 bedrooms mainly. Possibly stairs and landing/hall so may be 40m2 - 60m2 in total to do. But for now really looking for quite general costs per m2 for 1)minor repairs to floor 2) sanding 3) cheapest out of stain/varnish/paint. Appreciate any guide prices. Thanks.
